The 2019 Great Legal Bake took place from 25th February to 1st March and many of the staff at Temple Legal Protection rolled up their sleeves, rolled out the pastry and channeled their inner baker to make some fantastic treats.
All our participants rose to the occasion – there were very few ‘soggy bottoms’ – and the bake sale raised a total of £110. This amount was matched by Temple Legal Protection, meaning that a grand total of £220 will go to the London Legal Support Trust; this is an independent charity who provide free legal advice to those who would otherwise not be able to access the help they need.
In recent years, the increase of poverty, coupled with a decrease in support services and cuts in funding for humanitarian and social welfare legal advice, means that more and more people are unable to access legal advice and support they need.
The grants, advice and support work provided by The London Legal Support Trust helps thousands of people for whom access to justice would otherwise be out of reach.
Temple Legal Protection are proud to support the Trust’s vital work and are now looking forward to working off some of the calories at the London Legal Walk on June 19th to raise further funds for this great cause!
