IT Support Technician

Temple Legal Protection Limited, a market leading Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) company, is seeking an IT Support Technician.

The role will involve providing support to the ICT and underwriting teams. The incumbent will be required to gain a detailed understanding of both business operations and marketing / sales strategies in order to provide effective support across this spectrum of activity.

The successful candidates’ main duties will include –

  • Assist with marketing and sales communications including mailshots and email shots.
  • Assist with the marketing and sales function including maintenance and development of main company website and advertising campaigns.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of all in-house systems, liaising and working with third party contractors.
  • Provide support to Temple members of staff using Temple’s in house systems, Microsoft Office products, and computer hardware.
  • To assist the Underwriters with processing ATE and BTE legal expenses business.
  • To ensure instructions from brokers / producers are recorded and carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To assist the underwriting teams with gathering enquiries.
  • To assist with the handling of claims.
  • Liaise with coverholders regarding general queries.
  • To ensure that records held are accurate and kept up to date.

Candidates interested in applying must have at least one years’ experience of working in an IT support role or two years’ experience in an office environment and have excellent interpersonal skills both on the telephone, by email, and face to face. The successful candidate must have experience of working with the Microsoft Office suite in particular Word, Excel, and Outlook. You will be expected to undergo training in line with agreed objectives.

It is desirable that the candidate has some experience of working in a legal or insurance environment.

As an experienced Senior Underwriter joining our expanding  team, it is essential that you have considerable experience of underwriting After the Event (ATE) LEI, and ideally have worked in a similar underwriting role. It is preferred that you have a legal qualification such as a law degree/conversion/CILEX.

You will focus on managing delegated authority schemes, underwriting new risks and auditing the performance of schemes. You will be required to master and implement underwriting guidelines and to demonstrate a detailed understanding of risk exposure and appetite.

Whilst office based the role also requires visiting our customers on a regular basis. The highest level of customer service is demanded at all times with our clients, intermediaries and third parties.

You will be a strong team player, working efficiently to meet agreed objectives and have a good eye for detail. You must be able to deal effectively with enquiries, and operate well within the parameters of stipulated procedures and authority limits.

You will have a demonstrable record of exceptional interpersonal skills with voice, digital and face to face communication experience. Full working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and the use of Management Information Systems is expected. You will be required to undertake ongoing training in line with agreed objectives and keep up-to-date with technical, legal and market developments via use of e-learning, internal training and by reading market related material.

As a Senior BTE Underwriter based in our Bristol office, you will be responsible for underwriting commercial stand alone, scheme and employer protection business and manage the client relationship with coverholders.

This will include carrying out external audits of coverholder schemes, attending sales meetings and ensuring the commercial and employer protection books of business are performing.

As an experienced Senior Business Development Manager in our Bristol office, you will be responsible for developing our ATE/BTE legal expenses account’s by bringing in new business, whilst maintaining and developing relationships with our existing broker/solicitor clients. Your duties will include tasks such as following up new business leads whilst also generating your own, meeting prospective and existing clients and carrying out external audits of coverholder schemes.

Good organisation, time management and communication skills are essential. Candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience in either a broker, insurance or legal environment.
