On 6 October 2025, RSA Insurance – one of the UK’s oldest general insurance companies with a history of more than 300 years – rebranded fully under the Intact name. This change follows Intact Financial Corporation’s acquisition of RSA in 2021 and marks the next stage in their building a leading global insurer with a strong presence in the UK and Ireland.

Intact itself traces its origins back to 1809 and has grown steadily over two centuries, reflecting a long-standing commitment to financial responsibility and stability. Today, it manages over $24 billion in annual premiums and is recognised internationally for its financial strength, customer focus and underwriting expertise. Recent milestones include the acquisition of RSA in 2021 and the addition of Direct Line’s brokered Commercial Lines operations in 2023, further strengthening its UK presence.

For our customers, this rebrand represents continuity backed by deep resources and long-term stability. The insurer remains the same legal entity, retaining its A-rated security, but now benefitting from the scale and strength of the Intact group.
